Nordpfade – flach – weit – einzigartig. Dahinter verbergen sich 24 Rundwanderwege im Landkreis Rotenburg (Wümme) zwischen Bremen und Hamburg. Mit Hilfe des Wandernavigators kann man die für sich passende Tour finden. Und wenn unterwegs der kleine Hunger kommt, kehrt man einfach in einem der vielen Melkhüs ein!
Offiziell eingeweiht werden die Nordpfade am 22. Mai 2016 beim großen Nordpfade-Wandertag mit Sternwanderung.

André und ich kommen ja beide aus Norddeutschland und sind am Rande der Lüneburger Heide aufgewachsen. Als wir vor 20 Jahren dort weggezogen sind, war Wandern noch kein trendiger Breitensport, aber das hat sich in den letzten Jahren ja geändert.
Durch die Lüneburger Heide führt der Heidschnuckenweg, der im Sommer 2012 eingeweiht wurde; seitdem hat er einige Auszeichnungen erhalten. Die Gesamtlänge von 223km wird in 13 Etappen aufgeteilt. (Die neunte Etappe ist allerdings nur 7km lang, kann also sicherlich mit der vorangehenden 14km langen Etappe kombiniert werden.)
Scott, das ist doch gleich bei euch um die Ecke! Kennt ihr die Etappe oder den Rest des Heidschnuckenwegs? Ich glaube, für den nächsten Besuch in der (k)alten Heimat müssen wir die Wanderschuhe einpacken…

On April 26, 1986, a botched test at the nuclear plant in Ukraine, then a Soviet republic, sent clouds of smouldering radioactive material across large swathes of Europe. Over 100,000 people had to abandon the area permanently, leaving native animals the sole occupants of a cross-border “exclusion zone“ roughly the size of Luxembourg.”
