Cooking

Today’s lesson: Casserole made of potatoes, celery, smoked turkey and roquefort cheese sounds good, but tastes just plain horrible.

Reading

How many books does one read during one’s life? I’ve often wondered how many books I’ve read, but it’s hard to tell. I’ve been able to keep track of most of the books I’ve been reading in the last couple of years because I got many of them from the library.

Eric Leuliette has kept a list of the books he has read since he could read: “My mother started keeping the list when I started the first grade. My school asked parents to keep track of what books we read as part of its reading program. She kept the list until 1977 and I’ve kept the list since I was in the fifth grade.” Only 1978 is undocumented. Up to now, he as read 1793 books with a total of 399,185 pages.
