Yesterday, André and I left Bonn and went to my parents to spend Christmas with them and my sister.

It’s pretty cold outside (-8°C), but the sun was shining all day. André and I just returned from a walk…

Since I don’t know when I will be flipping the page again, let me wish all of you a Merry Christmas!

Winter solstice

Today seems to be a day of one-line updates… Oh well. I’m afraid I won’t be able to spend much time on weblogging today, since there’s so much to be done offline. The holidays are coming up faster than I expected, like they do every year.

Since today was the shortest day of the year (yes, it’s already dark in Germany), it’s not surprising I don’t get anything done.

News from Traumwind

I just read on Traumwind that Martin’s wife Sandra needed to undergo surgery again because she had a tubal ectopic pregnancy that nobody knew about. I really do hope that she gets well as soon as possible.

Martin, alles Gute für Sandra und für Raphael und Dich. Hoffentlich erholt sie sich schnell, und hoffentlich bleibt ihr alle im kommenden Jahr von Krankenhausaufenthalten verschont! Wie Susan schon sagte: Group hug!

Hey, I’ve never thought about looking for sheet music on the internet before. (How stupid is that?)

However, I found Musica Viva, which seems to have lots of free sheet music, and links to other sites with sheet music as well.

By the way, I like to play Sonatinas by Muzio Clementi on the piano, for example this one. There’s also an audio file, but I have to admit that I can’t play it as well… sigh. I need to practice.

As you may have noticed, I made a few little changes to this site’s design. Instead of the members box (which was way down in the left column), I have now placed the Login/Sign out links below the calendar.

And I added the new Behind the Curtain sticker to the left column.

Okay, ich bin sehr spät dran. Anfang November mußte Eric Weisstein seine MathWorld-Site aus dem Netz nehmen, wegen Copyright-Streitereien mit dem Verlag, der das davon abgeleitete Buch herausgegeben hat. Und schon einen Tag gab es dazu einen Artikel in der Telepolis: Fällt MathWorld dem Copyright zum Opfer?, von Peter Mühlbauer, 05.11.2000.

Den habe ich damals natürlich nicht gesehen…

Ich hoffe nach wie vor, daß Eric Weisstein den Rechtsstreit gewinnt und MathWorld wieder online gehen darf!
