Hourly Hits

I just checked my hourly hits, which I rarely do, and noticed that this site got 10,000 hits in one hour today, while the normal number of hits is between 50 and 200 per hour. The referrer logs don’t give a clue, so I’ve no idea how this happened. Any ideas? The time shown is GMT+2, by the way.
