I definitely think I should visit Berlin for a couple of days. I’ve only been there once, for one day in 1993, and it seems the city has changed a lot since then.

Happy New Year!

We’re back in Bonn. I’m tired, but I have to unpack my stuff and get a few things done before going to bed. Updates should be more regular again now…

Unfortunately, we came home too late to go to the post office to collect the mail from the last two weeks. I’ll go there first thing tomorrow.

Last day of the year André and I wish you all a very happy New Year! – And happy new millenium, too! (‘Cause we mathematicians know what year a new millenium starts with. ) André und ich wünschen Euch allen einen guten Rutsch und ein glückliches neues Jahrtausend! Okay, Christmas is over. Above is my parents’ Christmas tree on December 24.

André and I spent the last days visiting with assorted grandparents, family and friend. Today, his parents are picking us up, and we’re going to his grandmother to celebrate her birthday. Before returning to Bonn, we are going to spend a few days with his parents.

Oh, and believe it or not, but this year we had the first white Christmas in ages. It started to snow on the 24th, and we got about 10 cm of snow – and it hasn’t molten yet!

Here are a few photos from my parents’ garden, taken with my Coolpix (yep, the same as the one Sheila got for Christmas) and a wide-angle lens I borrowed.

I know they’re not the best shots, but I didn’t spend much time with the camera… go to Susan’s 2020 Hindsight to see some really good photos!

Although I haven’t flipped my page often lately, I’ve been following all the “usual” blogs. I hope you are (or have been) enjoying your holidays!

Yet another sunset

Yesterday, André and I left Bonn and went to my parents to spend Christmas with them and my sister.

It’s pretty cold outside (-8°C), but the sun was shining all day. André and I just returned from a walk…
