Where am I?

I added my weblog to the GeoURL database. You can see a list of my neighbours. Pastalog is also listed there, but I know that Iris is about 100 m away from me, not two miles. As far as I know, she’s my closest weblog neighbour (apart from André, of course).

Japanese Gardens

JGarden is a japanese garden database with information about japanese gardens around the world. I have not yet been to this one in the Rheinaue Park in Bonn, but I’ve seen the one in Leverkusen (north of Cologne). Spring Weekend

After a short, but powerful thunderstorm last night, spring returned today. Since I’m working on my thesis, I can’t spend much time outside, but the windows are open all day. This afternoon I threw a banana bread together; it took about ten minutes. I had to use ground almonds instead of almond pieces, but it turned out yummy nevertheless.

By the way, I need a cooking/baking dictionary. I don’t know the English term for Mandelstifte; they’re french fries-shaped almond pieces. I was going to write gehackte Mandeln instead, but the online dictionary didn’t know gehackt either.

Update: I’m told by an expert that they’re called slivered almonds.
