Last day of school
Today is the last day of school before the Christmas holidays, to which I’m looking very forward after the stress I’vee been through these past months.
I spotted this house on the way home from school last night in Kalkar near Bad Münstereifel:
In other news, André and I watched The Return of the King on Wednesday night. The film was very good, as expected, but there was a bit too much fighting for my taste. I guess Tolkien is to be blamed for that. Also, I missed one or two key scenes, which probably have been cut because the movie would have gotten too long otherwise – I expect them to be included in the extended version. Other parts were very close to the book, or even taken verbatim from it. I won’t give away the ending of the movie; let me just remark that I think it was quite melodramatic – in German you would say (literal translation) that they pressed on the tear ducts a bit too much.
Summary: excellent movie, go and see it! I think André and I will watch it again after Christmas – and needless to say we’re eagerly awaiting the release of the extended edition on DVD.
