Sorry, been very busy today. Late change – it’s almost 11 pm in Germany…

I’ve only read five of his books so far: “The World According to Garp”, “The Cider House Rules”, “A Son of the Circus”, “Trying to save Piggy Sneed” (and other short stories), and “A Widow for One Year”.

I liked “A Son of the Circus” best!

Origami Day!

Math can be fun! I found some stuff about math and origami…

paperfolding.com has a large variety of information: history, learn how to fold, many pictures of origami insects, dinosaurs and the like. And what I like best: their page about origami and math.

Another interesting site is Fascinating Folds, a supplier for origami and other paper arts. (Their learning center is here.

Joseph Wu’s Origami Page has a brief history of the ancient art of paperfolding.

Easter!

Although it’s almost six weeks until easter, I spotted the first egg-decorated tree in our neighborhood this morning! Chocolate easter bunnies are available at our supermarket since last week…

I don’t believe it – but I guess they would sell easter stuff even earlier if we didn’t have had carnival till last week…

Ostern!

Obwohl es noch fast sechs Wochen bis Ostern sind, habe ich heute morgen den ersten mit bunten Eiern geschmückten Baum in der Nachbarschaft gesehen! Schokoladen-Osterhasen gibt’s bei uns im Supermarkt schon seit voriger Woche…

Kaum zu glauben – aber ich fürchte, wenn nicht bis letzte Woche noch Karneval gewesen wäre, hätten sie schon eher damit angefangen, Ostersachen zu verkaufen…

Today I visited the Exploratorium website.

André and I went to the real thing when we visited San Francisco last year. I just love it! We spent about three hours there, exploring and playing and experimenting.

On their webiste, I especially liked the Science Snacks, little experiments for teachers to do in class. For example, they tell you how to build your own geyser there!

Most of the world’s real geysers can be found at Yellowstone NP.
