Happy New Year!
We’re back home after visiting our parents for the holidays. We spent some time with relatives, met lots of old friends, had too much good food and made it into the new year safe and sound. We returned from our trip yesterday and are back home now. Only one thing is missing – snow! It wouldn’t have made for good driving conditions yesterday, but it would surely look nice outside now that we’re back. I wonder if there still is snow in Las Vegas…
2004 is going to be an exciting year for me, possibly with lots of changes. I’ll finish my teacher training in less than a month, and so far it doesn’t look like I will be able to get a job as a teacher right away. That means I’ll have to wait for the new school year to start in summer, and I guess I’ll have to find some other job for the meantime to earn some money, which is quite frustrating because everybody told us that it would be no problem to find a job as a teacher with my subjects, mathematics and physics.
But first of all I’ve got a few more days of vacation before school starts again next Wednesday. Maybe I’ll use the time and try out Al’s cheese cake recipe – we got a new baking pan recently that works very well, and I’ve already tried my usual cheesecake recipe. Also on the to-do list: lots of relaxing and long walks outside. And watching The Return of the King a second time.
